Adrian Carey retired from full time executive work at 50 to travel the world and do some challenging adventures: the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race twice. Adrian will tell us about the dramas, excitements, disappointments, and lifelong friendships formed.

Adrian retired from full time executive work at 50 to travel the world and do some challenging adventures. Two of these were sailing related with Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The first in 2008 was the longest leg, to race across the North Pacific in March from Qingdao in Northern China to California via Hawaii. The second in 2018 was in June was the final ‘glory’ leg of the race from New York to London, via Derry, NI and Den Helder, Netherlands. Both legs had dramas, excitements and disappointments, with lifelong friendships formed.
